It is largely used in high-tech products like computers, mobile phones, digital cameras, etc. The core of any computers is a chip called CPU. Integrated circuit was invented in 1959 by Jack Kilby, an American engineer of Texas Instruments. He won the Nobel Price in physics in 2000 "for his part in the invention of the integrated circuit".
